Exciting News: Storyybrook School is coming!

We’re thrilled to introduce Storyybrook School, a nurturing and innovative SEMH learning environment set to open its doors in early 2025 (dependent on D of E approval). With over five acres of beautiful countryside in Bracknell, Storyybrook will be a space where young learners can grow, excel, and dream big. The school currently has a capacity for 30 full-time learners from year 3 to year 8 with a range of Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs.

Our vision is to create a community of caring, creative and aspirational learners where each unique child is valued and nurtured to thrive, grow and excel in a world with no limits.

Our Mission: A Place for Every Child to Thrive

At Storyybrook School, we believe that education should celebrate each child’s individuality. Our mission is to champion every student’s journey, helping them develop as confident, compassionate, and creative learners. Through a unique therapeutic, thematic, and project-based curriculum, we create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Our core values — respect, resilience, inclusion, integrity, and love — guide every interaction, ensuring each child feels valued and empowered.

Meet the Headteacher

Steve Forrest, our dedicated Headteacher, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our student-centred approach. “At Storyybrook, every child is supported and encouraged to thrive,” says Mr. Forrest. “We’re here to foster personal growth and well-being, building a vibrant community grounded in high support, relational practices, and a true appreciation for each individual.” He looks forward to meeting families and helping them explore what makes Storyybrook School special.

Our Approach: Small Class Sizes, Big Support

Storyybrook School is specially designed for students in Years 3 to 8 with social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs. Our curriculum mirrors the National Curriculum, with flexible support tailored to each child’s unique strengths and needs. By blending academic and therapeutic approaches, we help students bridge learning gaps, overcome personal barriers, and develop both academically and emotionally.

Unique Learning Opportunities

Students at Storyybrook School enjoy a well-rounded personal development programme that extends beyond traditional academics. From climbing and sailing to forest school and outdoor learning, we encourage every child to explore, gain confidence, and build resilience through hands-on experiences that connect them to the world around them.

Admissions Made Simple

We are committed to a supportive and accessible admissions process. Interested families can reach out directly or connect with their Local Education Authority (LEA) caseworker, who can facilitate an informal discussion and a tour of the school.

Come Grow With Us!

Storyybrook School is set to open in January 2025 (subject to final DfE approval), and we can’t wait to begin this journey with our students and families.

For more information or to arrange a visit, please contact Steve Forrest at [email protected], or reach out to our team at [email protected]. We can’t wait to welcome you to our Storyybrook School family!
