Before joining Storyy Group, I served as a Centre Director at Busy Bees Day Nurseries. In this role, I managed a bustling 130-place nursery and also provided support to 19 other nurseries in the region. It was a rewarding experience, but I felt compelled to explore new avenues where I could better impact on the lives of young people. This drive stemmed from my personal journey and the challenges both I and my own children faced in the school system. I wanted to channel my experiences into ensuring that young individuals are supported, heard, and provided with the tools they need to thrive.

This motivation led me to Storyy Group. The organisation’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people resonated deeply with me. I joined Storyy Group with a burning desire to contribute to the vital work of supporting and empowering young individuals who face daily challenges similar to the ones I encountered personally. It is my belief that every young person deserves a supportive environment where their voices are heard and their unique needs are met.

As the Head of Operations across our alternative provisions, my role is multifaceted. I take pride in ensuring compliance across all our sites, guaranteeing that our exceptional team of mentors receives the necessary training and resources to create a secure and enriching environment for our young people. I am dedicated to providing them with a range of experiences that foster their growth and development.

One of the aspects I love most about my role is the opportunity to establish consistency in our approach across all areas. It fills me with pride to witness the collective impact we make as a team on the lives of young individuals every day. The small but significant progress our young people make accumulates to produce remarkable results, enabling them to reach their life goals. This sense of reward and fulfilment is truly remarkable.

Since joining Storyy Group, I have achieved significant milestones. My initial position within the organisation was as a Behaviour Mentor. During this time, I invested in building strong relationships with the young people, exhibiting patience, calmness, and consistency in my interactions. Together, we tackled challenges they faced in school, especially when they were at risk of exclusion. By setting goals and developing clear plans to achieve them, we were able to shift their mindsets and equip them with the skills to manage their emotions and confront daily challenges effectively.

Looking ahead, my aspiration is to continue growing within Storyy Group. I wholeheartedly believe in our ethos and the journey we are embarking on. My ultimate goal is to extend our support to every child who needs it, leaving no one behind. I firmly believe that with the unwavering passion and dedication of our remarkable team, anything is possible. The opportunity to be a part of this transformative work fills me with excitement, and I am committed to going above and beyond to ensure the success of our mission.
