Steph’s Storyy

When Steph decided to leave her office job to focus on being a mum, she never anticipated what would happen next. A few years later, she found herself volunteering at her daughter’s school, helping with daily readers. It was during this time that Steph discovered a passion for working with children, and she eagerly applied for a teaching assistant role at the school.

Although Steph didn’t have prior experience as a teaching assistant, her dedication and enthusiasm caught the attention of the school administrators, and they took a chance on her. Alongside her new role, Steph embarked on an exciting educational journey by enrolling in the Teaching Assistant Level 3 course offered by both the school and Storyy Training.

The Teaching Assistant Level 3 course proved to be a game-changer for Steph. It provided her with a deep understanding of how children learn and the best ways to support them in the classroom. Steph also gained valuable insights into the reasons behind challenging behaviours, enabling her to create a more supportive and empathetic learning environment. The course was carefully designed to meet the specific needs of the school and Steph’s role, ensuring that she gained practical knowledge and skills that directly applied to her daily work.

Balancing her role as a parent and pursuing a Level 3 qualification wasn’t easy for Steph. She had concerns about managing the workload and finding time for both her family and studies. However, the school administration proved to be incredibly supportive throughout her journey. They recognised the importance of Steph’s professional growth and ensured that she had enough opportunities for observations, meetings, and continuous professional development (CPD). Storyy Group’s tutor also went above and beyond to arrange on-the-job visits and lessons, minimiaing Steph’s time away from the school.

Steph’s hard work and determination paid off, and she is now on the brink of completing her Level 3 qualification. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone on her path to becoming a fully qualified teacher. Looking ahead, Steph is considering the prospect of a Level 6 Teaching Apprenticeship, which will provide her with further opportunities to grow and develop her skills while working in the classroom.
