At Storyy Group, we encounter young individuals facing a myriad of challenges, each with their own unique set of circumstances. One such remarkable individual is Alice. When Alice was referred to us, her life was fraught with difficulties. Substance misuse, ongoing police investigations, vulnerability to exploitation, and struggles with online safety had taken a toll on her overall well-being. Consequently, Alice had low school attendance, found it difficult to form positive friendships, and harboured a general sense of mistrust.

From the moment Alice stepped through our doors, our primary focus was to provide her with a safe and nurturing environment. We understood the importance of listening to her and striving to understand her perspective on the life she was living. Our team of dedicated specialists worked tirelessly to support Alice in recognising the risks associated with her actions and guided her towards making more informed decisions. It was crucial for us to help Alice develop her decision-making skills and channel them in a more productive direction.

To address Alice’s specific needs, we designed a bespoke learning program tailored to her circumstances. This program encompassed various components, including visits to an eating clinic and a sexual health clinic, ensuring that her holistic well-being was prioritised. Additionally, Alice shared her passion for singing, dancing, and presenting with us, and we were determined to help her realise her dreams. Through our Theatre school, Alice had the opportunity to explore and develop her talents in these areas, allowing her creative spirit to flourish.

Over a period of one and a half terms, Alice began her journey of reintegration into mainstream education. Throughout this critical period, we worked closely with Alice, her family, and her school, fostering open lines of communication and collaboration. Together, we ensured that Alice’s transition back to school was as smooth as possible, providing the necessary support along the way. Despite returning to mainstream education, Alice remained an active member of the Storyy family, continuing to attend our Theatre school twice a week during evenings.

The impact of our collective efforts has been nothing short of remarkable. Alice’s attendance at school has consistently exceeded 95%, highlighting her commitment to her education and personal growth. This achievement is a testament to Alice’s resilience and determination, as well as the unwavering support she received from both her school and our Storyy Group community.

Alice’s story is just one example of the transformative work we undertake at Storyy Group. Every day, we witness the power of empathy, tailored support, and a nurturing environment in helping young individuals overcome their challenges and reach their full potential. Through our commitment to providing holistic care and a range of educational opportunities, we strive to empower each young person who comes to us for support.
