Senior Residential Support Worker

Location: Residential Children’s Home, Earley, Reading, RG6

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week, including rota shifts) also offering Part -Time

Salary: Starting at £31,000 per annum plus £50 per sleep in (based on 1 per week, £2,600 per annum)

Reports to: Registered Home Manager

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals, particularly children, ensuring their well-being and development in a nurturing environment. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to follow care plans, and a willingness to engage in various activities that promote the growth and happiness of those in our care.

Duties

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, , meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Implement and follow care plans tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive support network.
  • Engage children in educational and recreational activities that foster development and learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress and any incidents that may occur during care.
  • Drive individuals to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a supportive and positive environment for all individuals.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with children or in a similar support role is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with individuals and families.
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining records and communicating with team members.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs.
  • A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to providing high-quality support.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team or independently when required.
