Role Purpose:

As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you’ll employ therapeutic parenting approaches and create a caring, stable environment to help our young residents heal and grow. Your role will be pivotal in shaping their futures, providing both support and inspiration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguard and promote the well-being and safety of all children and young people.
  • Implement therapeutic parenting techniques (PACE: Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) in daily interactions.
  • Develop supportive and trusting relationships with the young people, helping them form positive external relationships.
  • Facilitate and support the young people’s education, health, hobbies, and therapy.
  • Maintain high standards of care and adhere to all regulatory requirements including the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

 

Who We’re Looking For:

Experience and Knowledge: Proven background in residential childcare, with a robust understanding of the complexities faced by looked-after children. Knowledge of therapeutic interventions and regulatory standards is essential.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage challenging behaviour, and commitment to professional development.

Qualifications: Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths at Grade C or above, Level 3/4 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

Personal Attributes: You are empathetic, resilient, and passionate about making a difference. Your creativity and flexibility help you adapt to the needs of each child.
