What Storyy Alternative Provision Offers

At Storyy Group, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, no matter their starting point. For some, the traditional classroom isn’t the right environment, whether because of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, disrupted education, exclusions, illness, or complex personal circumstances.

That’s where Storyy Alternative Provision (AP) comes in. Our role is to ensure that children and young people who need education delivered differently have the right support to rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes.

What Storyy AP Offers

Our Alternative Provision is built on flexibility, inclusivity, and personalisation. By combining academic tuition, vocational training, therapeutic support and holistic development, we create environments where learners feel safe, supported, and motivated to succeed.

We provide:

  • Academic Tuition – 1:1 and small-group Maths & English sessions designed to close attainment gaps and build confidence.

  • Vocational Training – Hands-on opportunities in trades, creative arts, music and sports to prepare learners for apprenticeships, employment or further study.

  • Therapeutic Support – Trauma-informed SEMH programmes, ELSA sessions, PAWS therapy, mindfulness and mentoring.

  • Holistic Development – Outdoor learning, life skills, community projects and wellbeing activities that encourage independence and resilience.

  • Accredited Learning – Pathways to recognised qualifications that open future opportunities.

Every learner follows a personalised pathway, designed around their strengths, challenges, and aspirations.

Our Provisions at a Glance

To meet the needs of different learners, we provide tailored AP across primary and secondary sites:

  • Storyybrook (Primary, ages 4–11):
A nurturing, creative and therapeutic environment where younger learners rebuild confidence, re-engage with education and develop strong emotional and academic foundations. With bespoke timetables, topic-based learning, therapeutic interventions (including PAWS therapy and ELSA), and outdoor activities such as gardening, cooking and pet care, Storyybrook supports children to rediscover joy in learning.

  • Birch Hill (Sports, Music & Community):
A dynamic setting where learners develop resilience and teamwork through basketball, boxing, football and cricket, alongside creative opportunities in our music studio, cooking sessions and community projects.

  • Finchampstead (Creative Arts & Mindfulness):
A calm, expressive provision combining hair and beauty, textiles, performing arts, yoga and mindfulness with structured academic support to boost confidence and focus.

  • Trades (Vocational Training):
A hands-on environment where learners gain practical skills in carpentry, mechanics, roofing, plastering and scaffolding. These pathways help build employability and prepare learners for apprenticeships or further education.

  • Tutoring Hub (Academic Focus):
Specialist Maths & English tuition delivered at Birch Hill and Finchampstead to help close gaps and build attainment in core subjects.

Together, these sites provide joined-up AP across all age groups, ensuring that every learner, whether primary or secondary, has a pathway tailored to their needs.

How We Work With Learners

Our process always starts with the learner. Many of the children and young people we support arrive feeling anxious, disengaged, or lacking in confidence. Through personalised programmes, we help them rebuild trust, re-engage with learning and move forward positively.

Our approach includes:

  • Learner-Led Planning: Programmes shaped around individual strengths and aspirations.

  • Holistic Growth: Balancing academic support with wellbeing and life skills.

  • Collaborative Working: Partnering with schools, local authorities and families for joined-up support.

  • Positive Progression: Supporting reintegration into mainstream education or transitions into further study, apprenticeships or employment.

Why Storyy AP Matters

Too often, learners with SEMH needs or disrupted education are left behind. Storyy Group was founded to change that, to reimagine alternative provision and create safe, inspiring environments where education feels possible again.

By bringing together academic learning, vocational opportunities, therapeutic support and holistic development, we help learners of all ages rebuild confidence, rediscover their potential and prepare for brighter futures.

At Storyy, we’re not just delivering education. We’re unlocking potential, rewriting stories, and helping every learner take their next step with confidence.
