Storyy Group provide Alternate Provision, Supported Accommodation (16+) & Children’s Homes to create positive pathways for children and young people.
We have a number of bases across Berkshire including primary and secondary-aged Alternate Provision sites, creative arts, boxing and construction.
We work with local authorities, schools, parents and carers to engage children and young
people in learning, positive activities and pathways for their future. We give them the support and tools they need to write their own Storyy.
Hours: Full Time on 39 or 52 week contract
Work Base: Across all Storyy Group Alternate Provision Sites
Salary Breakdown:
£15,000-20,000 Term Time only, 32 hours per week
£18,00-£23,000 Term time only 38.5 hours per week
£17,000-£21,000 52 week contract, 32 hours per week
£23,000- £27,000 52 week contract, 38.5 hours per week
Salary range depends on experience and length of service.
Key Objectives:
1. To provide support to the provision manager in the work with individual and groups of children and young people
2. To develop a professional and supportive relationship with children and young people as their mentor and lead professional
3. To have an understanding and to comply with, local and organisational procedures for
promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
1. To provide direct support and guidance to children and young people, in relation to health, care and well-being, with an emphasis upon promoting children & young people’s communication, language, physical, social and emotional development.
2. To provide a range of behavioural intervention strategies based on the assessment of a child’s behaviours, this will include the development of Positive Behaviour Support plans and Targets
3. As lead professional and mentor, attend multi agency meetings as appropriate to share information
4. To record appropriately and keep children and young people’s files up to date.
5. To be aware of child safeguarding procedures and ensure that any concerns regarding possible abuse are immediately reported to your line manager. Contribute to safeguarding investigations and protection planning as needed under the direction of the provision manager.
6. To undertake risk assessments and develop risk management plans either independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
7 . To attend team meetings on a regular basis, to make a commitment to regular supervision, to be responsive to critical challenge, advice, feedback and direction, and to demonstrate a commitment to training and development
8. To work as a positive role model and represent Storyy Group core values and behaviours, ensuring the work you are responsible for is in line with Storyy Group policies and procedures.
9. To comply with Storyy Group diversity & equality policy in every aspect of your work and positively promote the principles of these policies amongst colleagues, service users and other members of the community.

Scope of the Role:
To respond to and support the Local Authorities and schools which purchase a service level agreement.

Person Specification:
Skills and Qualifications
● 5 GCSE’s (A*- C or 9 – 5) including Maths and English
● Youth Work Qualification
● Counselling Qualification

Excellent communication skills able to meet the requirements and demands of different stakeholders – written, presentational, negotiation and conversational skills
Work-related Personal Requirements
● Highly experienced practitioner with a vast range of experience of working with children and young people with and without learning disabilities who display behaviours that challenge
● Significant experience in supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs
● Breadth of experience of working within various settings with an understanding of the education system
● Experience of assessing situations and recording to appropriate professional standards
● Experience working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
● Experience of working positively within a team, embracing team relationships and adopting internal process
● Demonstrable evidence of commitment to roles undertaken and ownership of the outcomes achieved.
● Self-motivator who is able to demonstrate high levels of self-discipline and initiative
● High standards of professional integrity, whilst being resilient, determined and confident.

Other Work Requirements
The post holder must hold a full UK driving licence (or valid equivalent). Non-UK licences must be converted to UK licences in the first six months of employment. They must also evidence they have business insurance on their vehicle used for work.
A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The ability to converse easily with members of the public and respond effectively to questions in spoken English
