Role Overview:

As Deputy Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enriching the lives of the children under our care. This position is instrumental in supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the seamless operation of our home through exemplary leadership and adherence to the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Objectives:

  • Leadership and Management: Act as a dynamic leader; manage staff performance, provide regular supervision, and foster a team-oriented environment.
  • Safeguarding and Compliance: Ensure all practices align with safeguarding protocols and regulatory frameworks, including preparation for and participation in Ofsted inspections.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, manage budgets responsibly, and maintain high standards of safety and care within the home.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to create a safe, homely, fun, and nurturing environment for our children.
  • Work closely with local authorities, schools, and other stakeholders to promote the welfare and development of our children.
  • Lead by example, using innovative behavioural intervention strategies and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with Children Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).

 

Who We’re Looking For:

Experience: Proven track record in an Ofsted regulated residential children’s home; at least 3 years in a managerial role within a child-focused provision.

Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).

Skills: Outstanding communication and leadership skills, adept at budget management, and a robust understanding of safeguarding practices.

Personal Attributes: Ambitious, creative, resilient, and driven, with a profound respect for diversity and a strong commitment to promoting equality.
